Bob Feld has been a student of the game from a young age. His early memories include discussing the weekend's races every Monday morning with his fourth grade teacher. He bought his first racehorse before he had his driver's license and has been directly involved with horse racing for more than 25 years. Bob's vast experience in the industry includes stints as a trainer's assistant, jockey agent and public newspaper handicapper and as the liaison-director of California Thoroughbred Trainers. He also helped to develop one of the leading Thoroughbred racing partnership groups on the West Coast. Bob has a keen eye for finding top-class Thoroughbreds and was involved with the selection of champion Reraise, winner of the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1); Hollywood Futurity (G1) winner Siphonic; Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) victress Adoration; Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) winner and champion two-year-old colt Action This Day; Del Mar Futurity (G2) victor Siphonizer; the fast-closing fourth-place finisher in the 2003 Kentucky Derby (G1), Atswhatimtalknbout and the multiple Grade 1 winner Balance. His advice and consultation are highly prized, making Bob a tremendous asset to Bongo Racing Stable. "I have seen first-hand how owning race horses can literally change someone's life," Bob says. "I look forward to bringing many new owners into this great sport through Bongo Racing Stable."
Chris Closson
Chris Closson has been involved in the Thoroughbred industry for more than 25 years. He got his start in the early 1980's by working at the California sales with the legendary bloodstock agent Albert Yank. He assisted not only at the sales arena but also spent hands-on time prepping the auction horses at the farm . He then moved on to forming his own racing partnerships. Chris brings his many years of experience and vast background to Bongo Racing Stable. Chris is now working closely with Bongo's trainers and clients and helps oversee the entire operation on a day-to-day basis. "I love the opportunities that Bongo creates for people that want to be actively involved in our great sport."
Jude Feld
Jude Feld has loved Thoroughbred racing since his youth. He began his horseracing career in 1978, making charts for the Daily Racing Form at Ellis Park in Henderson, Kentucky. After a stint as assistant trainer to Julio Canani in California, Jude took out his own trainer's license in 1980. He has trained the winners of 23 stakes, including graded winners Pewter Grey, Steff Graf (Brz) and Vieille Vigne (Fr) as well as multiple stakes winners Broadway Pointe, Freya Stark (Ire), Order and Capel Meister (Fr). Retiring from training in 2000, Jude returned to Kentucky, where he serves as a racing publicist and bloodstock consultant in Lexington. His intimate knowledge of the sport and countless contacts are an important catalyst in Bongo Racing Stable's success. "Horse racing is the greatest game played outdoors," Jude says. "I relish the opportunity to introduce racing fans to the intense pleasure that Thoroughbred ownership provides."
Dave Carman
Dave Carman parlayed his backstretch experience into Thoroughbred ownership, developing and managing Black Tie Racing Stable, a profitable claiming partnership based in Southern California. A successful student of the racing game, he is equally at home analyzing pedigrees in a Keeneland sale catalog or scouting future prospects in the Daily Racing Form. "Partnerships in Thoroughbred horse racing just make sense," Dave says. "Individuals not only can buy into a much nicer horse than they would on their own, but also gain the opportunity to own more horses, increasing their chances of owning a champion."
